Every year I plan our summer holiday and I always think it is a massive success, but I don’t know if my family would agree with me! I am the bread winner so I think it should be me to choose where we go, but I have had so many criticisms over the years that this year I finally yielded to my wife and she was put in charge of the destination!

I was nervous for two reasons. Firstly I thought that she would manage to find somewhere that we wouldn’t all like, and secondly I thought that she would manage to find somewhere that cost a fortune! I have to say that what she came up with turned out to be a great holiday!

She found some cheap flights to Bulgaria online and then independently arranged to book us into a hotel on the Black Sea Coast. I had always thought that Bulgaria would be a scruffy country which albeit cheap would be a bit of a dive. I have to say that absolutely the opposite was true. It was cheap over there, in fact the cost of day to day living was next to nothing, but the place had an amazing natural beauty. On top of that there was enormous redevelopment going on, and there were some great places to go in the day time and the night. I hate to admit I am wrong but I have to say that my wife has outdone ne in the choosing holiday destination stakes!
